Default 5.3L Clutch fan to electric fan conversion.

Have a 2001 GMC Sierra 5.3L?? Need more space for performance add-ons? Is converting the clutch fan to electric fan worth it? if so, what is the best website to buy an entire kit from? Need major help with this one guys.

ok cool yeah i put in a K&N cold Air Intake on the truck then got a throttlebody spacer for it but they both wont fit together because of the fan shroud trying to fix that issue.

You can get an aluminum 34" core radiator off of ebay for about 210 shipped, 2007+ e-fans new for about 175 shipped, 300 for a tune and a harness from blackbear. There are ways to do it cheaper with used parts, but Im getting all new parts and a tune at the same time so its a little bit more. If you can find a junked 05+ gm suv or fullsize it will have the 34" radiator and electric fans. Usually just need the harness and a tune to make sure they turn on when they are supposed to.

I agree. Use factory parts, if you can. Benefits: larger radiator, parts are designed to work and duration tested by GM - it will last and be dependable. Factory radiator, factory fans and I would also get the factory harness, from a junkyard.

Also agree with the TB spacer.

My clutch fan messed was damaged after my engine swap yesterday so I picked up some Camaro fans from my local Salvage yard for $45 and with a few dollars worth of wires/connectors, I have awesome e-fans. It's so much cleaner under the hood too. And x3 on the tb spacer.
