my buddy just got an 05 5.3 silverado and just wanted to see what are the performance upgrades for it? What should he get first?

 

he should get a tune first(nelson performance link in my sig ). 5.3's have alot of potential. 13's are common. some upgrades for these trucks are:

tune, stall, cam, intake, exhaust,electric fans, pullies, headers, gears, posi, nitrous, forced induction, the list goes on and on...what part of houston are you from? we have alot of houstonians here

 

Nelson Tune definately then go do a good exhaust and then the sky is the limit.

 

Do your mods first then get the tune to compensate for them.

 

so where's the best place to get an intake and exhaust from?

 

intake...uh..people will tell you different things but you can make one that makes just as much power for cheap. Where do you live in Houston. Im in Tomball and Stan's Muffler shop did my exhaust and welded in my headers so i would recommend them but if hes looking to go all out he needs to get a Corsa catback setup.(thats kinda pricey)
