I would thin k if you go t a 6.0 ya would also want to use the 80e Tranny because of the power difference and gearing differences between the 60e and 80e.

If the truck performed to your satisfaction grab a 5.3 Jasper or some other long block rebuild and put it and and be done with internal issues.

You're not going to get one final answer. Try using the search feature and look under 6.0 swap. You'll find all sorts of info and only you know what kind of power you want. Everyone's opinion on power will differ, so do what will fit your needs according to the info you find.

To do the repairs to your 5.3 you're going to need to remove the entire top half of your engine. Heads, intake, etc. It's a lot of work but is more cost effective than a 6.0 swap.

I wouldn't look into an 80E swap unless you plan on making over 500RWHP.

Installing lifters and guide plates isn't bad at all. If you were going to keep the 5.3, I'd use the OEM lifters and change to the Harland Sharp roller/rockers.

I agree totally....because the gear ratio in the 4L80 is quite diffrent and you'll loose some of the power you are wanting, through the Trans. Silent1 is 100% correct on this....I'm with him.
