Default 4L80E factory-installed in a 2000 1500?

Is this possible? I thought that the 80 was only available in the 2500-series trucks.

The truck supposedly has a heavy-duty towing package? He said that I can look at the window sticker for proof...hmmm, sounds fishy to me.

Any thoughts?

Um...I haven't heard that it was available like this for a half ton. They said look at the window sticker for proof?
I'm not positive though Scream.

Tell him to quit blowing smoke up your ***. Forget the window sticker. Crawl under and look at the tranny pan.

He got really agitated when I called him out on this...and he said that he's going to bring me the window sticker to prove it! The truck is the most optioned SCSB that I've ever seen...everything but sliding rear window and pwr/htd seats!

Only one slight problem...the truck has a 4/6 drop and you can't just "crawl under it!" Especially when you're pushing 300+ pounds!

Probably the ink is smudged and it looks like it says 80E.

Check the glovebox and get back with us.
