Cody....

You're right, I'm NOT trying to cause problems.....and I think you've done a hell of a good job putting together a motor

I'm a little on edge about the topic of building a motor at this point because I'm having these same arguments with my younger brother right now....a friend of his is helping him put together a stroked 302 (347cid) and neither of them knows their *** from a hole in the ground. it seems that everyone around them is just watching them screw up and waiting for the fireworks to occur.....it's starting to **** me off and it just seems that you're kinda going through the same process (with the exception of mjhoward...he's been pretty good to you)

Good luck dude.....

All I want to make clear is that we both knew better. He just chose to cut the corners of grinding on the crank. I told him that I would have done the same to my own motor if I was stranded like he was with no job and no money. That is why the grinding of the crank occured. I have seen many engines much more out of balance than his was run like a raped ape and even out ran me before while I had a hell of a lot more in mine because I paid attention to details. Around here we call them a "pick up" motor, you walk around the shop and pick up extra parts and throw one together!
It sucks to get out ran by a pick up motor
The missing the piston skirt clearence problem is just a pisser, most likely due to lack of attention due to time pressure.

Ok now back to bench racing while we are waiting on the machine shop. I say it puts down 499 at the wheels.

Damn you I knew you were going to say 499 I want 500 at the wheels so bad NA its not even funny. Im going to get an electric water pump too for it when tax return time comes around maybe that will put me over the edge. I dont think it iwll hit 500 though probably in the 480 area would be my best guess

And when you hit 499 just think about that rough casting in the ports you should have touched up
