I'm not trying to diss Nelson, he seemed cool with me when I was around him. Him and his brother seemed to do some good/clean work. They kept in touch throughout the swap/build process. But in the end, the truck just didn't do much more than a similarly equipped 5.3 truck. Maybe I sucked at driving, but even my friend driving it with slicks and more weight reduction, it only ran 14.4.

Something had to have been wrong somewhere,I can not see the problem being anything Allen did at all.
Who got the motor for you?Did you get it yourself?
Sometimes there are those few out there that do not run very good, then again some run better than the average. The way it goes sometimes!!

I personally felt a pretty decent difference between my 4.8 and my cammed 6.0. Loved it and still do!

With like seventy something more cubes you have to feel some sort of improvement lol!

I don't think Allen did anything wrong, it just didn't run like it should. Even now I'm not too impressed with my 6.0L, but like you said, it could've been a dud when we got it. I bought the motor from HiWay Auto like Allen suggested and I had it delivered directly to him. Allen supplied the cam, pushrods, and springs. I still think a properly setup 5.3L is awesome. I was real impressed with a couple guys' 5.3 setups on here...Put my 6.0 to shame.

I'm not all impressed with mine either for low end daily driving cruising power and throttle response. I think it's going to take 400+ cubes to please me. Mine however does run pretty good when you nail it. I just feel now looking back I should have spent the extra money for AFR 205cc heads. I think it would have had much better throttle repsonse. Oh well.

When I look back, I think maybe I should have thrown a radix on the 5.3 or bought better heads, intake, and cam for it. Like I said, I'm really blown away by what some of these guys have run with their 5.3 setups.
