6# on a 5.3 vs 6# on a 6.0 Big difference.

the lq4 is the way to go with the 6.0.

Leaves the door open for FI while at the same time works better with the smaller combustion chamber heads designed for the ls1's (lq9's compression goes thru the roof)

I had a 226 cam, yank 3000, built trans, and 4.10's. I even did weight reduction.

I would go for a 6.0. Yeah, probably not a whole lot of difference, stock, but start modding and I'm sure there'll be a notiecable difference.
I agree. From my experience going from the rear forward would be your best solution. I know GM doesn't make the best of transmission. My 3rd one crapped out Aug. 17th 2008, new FLT 4L60e Stage 4, with Vig 3400 and Sonnax Servos on 1-2 & 3-4, installed one week after Ike knocked us around. If you decide with the 6.0 just make sure you have the back side to support it. Eaton Posi is also a good idea... no more one wheeled squeeler here. 4.10's here on 20's.

As far as the block.... I have a 5.3L with Cam, Tune, and some other toys (no Juice, Tc, or SC) and the truck runs 13.765 quarters (on the 20's).

Also take into consideration that this is my DD.
