I put a triple 12 cam in my truck an upon reinstall my crank pulley looks like it's out 1/4" farther then my crank snout.

Is this normal or do I need to try and press it on further?
I made my own install tool and impacted the balancer back on the motor until it stopped, but I can still see a little of shiny surface where the old front crank seal had been riding on the balancer.
