292 to 454 swap
i have a 1966 c10 with 292 that's knocking bad and i believe i have a nv3500 5 spd out of a newer model truck that had a 350 in it so i'm going to swap a 454 out of a 75 with a turbo 400. so my questions are can i keep the 5spd and if so how much will need to change everything looks pretty close mounts and such but what about the fly wheel? this is my only drive able truck so i need help quickly to get back on the road any help would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance

the nv3500 will bolt up to any GM bellhousing pattern, and i've seen a guy that goes by something like xx_Ed_xx that put a 454 & a turbo 8.1 in front of his nv3500 just fine.
you can dig around & find his build thread to see what flywheel/clutch he used to make it happen.

Rebuild
I'm going to rebuild the engine when I have the money to do it right. My dad bought the truck from a family friend who's grandpa bought it new and I got it from my dad with the promise that I wouldn't sell it and keep it in the family. I'm only trying to get it back on the road again it's my only vehicle. I'm extremely proud to own this truck.

That's gonna be a bad little truck. I've had 2 65's one with a 350 and the other with a 400 sb and a 67 292. I'd dang sure do it! I think that yr model 454 has possibly 049 heads but probably 781's which are some of the exceptional oval ports. I'd do the 400 and use a tall tire! Carry on...gonna be fun.

I have the engine and trans in
I got the 75 steering column to fit with no modifications other than changing the turn signal wiring I made the rod to connect the column to the steering box it turned out great. I have had to build mounts and linkage but it's in the truck it's about ready to run and drive a few more things to do gas pedal power steering line and a lower radiator hose, wiring the electric fan up to a relay all the little odds and ends.
