Default 220/224 comp is in, plus some other stuff....

finished up the install saturday morning. went easier than i expected, other than removing the balancer/crank pulley. that thing's a TIGHT press fit, but it has to be since there's no keyway. i broke one cheap *** 3 jaw puller trying to take it off.
made some lifter tools out of the 5/16" dowel rods, used 5/16 on both sides, had to grind one side flat for both.

here's a list of what all i changed...
Comp 220/224 cam, 112 LSA, 530/534 lift
918 springs, locks, retainers, and pushrods
new water pump and belt
Z06 oil pump
LS2 timing chain
removed the EGR
PCMforless tune

since i still have a stock torque converter, i figured i'd do the cam and PCM swap at the same time. this way i wont notice much loss of lowend torque...i dont. it feels about like it did before the swap on the lowend, but let it rev up and man you can tell its definitely grown some bigger *****!

sounds pretty good too. glad i didnt go any smaller! im tempted to go bigger

oil pressure is a little higher than the stock pump. 40-45 psi idle, 60 psi or so on the highway. still have to get a 160 thermostat before i spray it

wanted to say thanks to everyone here thats helped me w/ all my questions, i appreciate it CHIP

my cam that I had in my 4.8 was a 218/224 @ 50 .562/.567 113 and it got me into the 13's so good luck with this one. I think you should hit 13's when you get a stall.

Glad to hear the low end you didn't loose! I'm getting a new cam 218/224 113lsa, and was concerned about that. Also I don't have a stell yet, so I was real worried. I guess it will be OK for a few weeks/ month till I can get a 26-2800 stall. Thanks for the update.

white1... i didnt have a tune before the cam swap, you do. from what ive been told, a tune really picks up the lowend grunt...so i figured if i did the cam swap at the same time i got the tune, i wouldnt really feel a loss. w/ your setup you probably will, but i dont think itll be a whole lot.

im lovin this cam! the cam and tune made a nice power increase. its weird to me to have a daily driver that lopes, lol. i havnt even sprayed it yet CHIP
