2002 TA cam in a 2000 5.3 L silverado

Default 2002 TA cam in a 2000 5.3 L silverado

i asked this question last night, but i think i worded the question wrong and some people did not understand what i was asking. i was woundering if i can put a 2002 ls1 cam in my 2000 5.3L truck engine. will there be any problems, will i see a good amount of HP and torq gain, if anyone could predict how much of a gain, and if i would have to change anything eles? i want to know b/c my bro will be getting a diff. cam to put in his 2002 TA and i will be getting his stock ls1 cam for free!- if i can use it. ----thanx

Do a search on this subject.

Free doesn't really matter unless you are dead broke because 02' Z06 cams are cheap as hell and much better for your app.

I don't think the 2002 LS1 cam will work very good in a truck, the lobe sep. is 119 with about a 121 Intake center line.

Yes, it's a direct swap and you should see a nice gain.
Here the specs on both of the cams.
02 ls1 479/467 207/196 116
00 lm7 466/457 190/191 114

that isi only for the 98-00 ls1

Sorry your right.
The 2002 is 196 Int. 208 Exh , .464 int. .479 exh. on 116LSA.

It is the same as the stock 6.0 cam.

If you do do it, install it advanced 4*.

I beleieve that was the change in 2001. The stock 6.0L cam went into the LS1 motors.
