Default 2000 silverado performance questions

im gettin a 2000 chevy rcsb with a 5.3 as a extra vehicle to run errands in. basically a lil beater. it has exhaust on it. whats some things that are fairly cheap and the best bang for its buck for performance. ive had plenty of these truck and have gone through all the bolt ons but wanted to get yall opinions. thanks

Best bang with out going into the motor would be a custom pcm tune... Comparable in price to a CAI, def more hp gain..

Best seat of the pants mod that is reasonably price is headers imo. But then again you will need a custom tune to take full advantage of them, so you might as well get the tune first.

what kind of headers? are the lt's easy to install on the truck? we have put shorties on a 2004 gmc cc before

OBX is best for the money.

The headers go in from the bottom and are easy as hell to install.

Yes. LT's. Personally i think Pacesetters are best for the money. Also install from the bottom.

LT's are the only headers worth putting on. Shorties are as good as stock manifolds.
LT's and a Custom tune is a good 30-40rwhp gain.

Based on Price. They all give the same performance gains.

Custom tune. Which is Dyno or mail order. Dyno would give best results.

Hypertech is a handheld that won't even come close to the same results.
