put a duramax in your truck and you can run in the 11's with a built tranny, stacked computer and a little giggle gas. Mr. Tomac up there does it with out a problem and he drive his truck everyday and pulls with it alot to. but that's just my way of thinking. sorry if that's a stupid comment. I have diesel on the brain.

hey, Mr. Tomac do you plan on going to muncie this year. I'm not sure if I have asked you allready. I would really love to see your truck.

just need to build a gas engine to hold the same boost the duramax is running.

That's going to be tough...you need to understand how a diesel motor and gas motor differ. A diesel motor is AKA compression ignition, where the air is heated sooo much it combusts the fuel. Where a gas motor uses a spark plug to ignite the fuel.

Basically the diesel fuel is injected when the piston is at the top of the compression stroke. That's why you can run ~18-22:1 compression AND 30psi w/o detonation...no way in hell a gas motor can do that.

To run that sort of boost through a gas motor, you'd need some super high octane leaded fuel, very low timing, and very low compression.

A "diesel" w/o detonation That's what makes them RUN
