01 yukon motor swap! help please

Default 01 yukon motor swap! help please

hi everyone i have a 01 yukon that i need to swap a motor (bad rod) i have a 5.3L 4x4 4l60e i found an 05 5.3L (lm7) motor that i want to get but not sure if it will work in my truck? and dont know what LM7 is? can anyone help please Thank you so much. Tom

The LM7 is a gen 3 Iron block with aluminum heads. It should work just fine for you. Look in your glovebox at the option sticker. Chances are you had a LM7 in your ride already. Good luck.

why not find a 6.0 and swap it in? its basically the same swap..might as well up the power while you are at it

i thought i heard you need to change the computer? not sure. any thought would be great know before i buy the 5.3l

direct swap.. it will run on your stock tune.. i ran around for 6 months with stock tune when i did my 6.0 swap...

ya direct swap as long as it is 2001-2007 i believe? 99-00 has a longer crank and wont work...have to change the flex plate on the 6.0 to the one on your 5.3, but thats about it..you might as well get a blackbear tune to go along with the new motor, so that would take care of your computer

you dont want that motor anyways. those are the iron head motors.
