The OP actually posted the specs for a 5.3, in an attempt to discuss why my truck doesn't make "X" because it's rated at "Y"

anyway, flywheel hp is stupid, bhp is stupid, the whole argument is stupid because of DA, humidity, physical altitude, air temp: etc. arguing hp is like arguing on the internet..... oh wait. It's especially dumb to argue what an engine makes when only bolted to an engine dyno. Unless you remove your belt, your torque converter and exhaust: that's not how you race. That's why I harp so hard on the actual results of a chassis dyno tune: aside from dyno differences

EDIT: looking back, I am the only poster in this thread who posted any data of any sort (citable if necessary) and I told the OP to do it because it will grow with him. So I wasn't just talking ****, I actually helped provide info and tried to make sure everyone was on the same page of the bench racing textbook. K thx

Again you talked **** about reading when you clearly can't follow simple ****. I posted in post 17 to the guy and him only, giving him info and told him "definitely do the NNBS intake and them told him about how the factory numbers are came up with. Post 18 you talked **** to me and jumped on me with "who gives a rats *** belt off blah blah". At that point I had not said one disrespectful thing to you, toward you, or anything about anything you had written.

Post 19 I was still being respectful after you already initiated the BS. post 20 was OP. Post 21 you talked more **** to me in a disrespectful manner saying "since you ALSO can't read"

This isn't hard dude. It's easier than 3rd grade math.

My skin is plenty thick but I don't take **** talk from anyone. Sounds like you're having a hard time taking what you dished out. I didn't start this ****. I was respectful and my attitude changed when you ran your ******* mouth at me. Don't like it, don't start it.

And again, you think it's stupid to talk flywheel, got that the first time you said it. Doesn't mean others cant discuss it. You keep saying it like we don't get that you think it's stupid. Cool bro.

Yes you gave info. Yes you provided details. You also tried to school someone in the difference in WHP and flywheel HP and decided to jump on me when I was talking to him. I don't see how you can't add this **** up.

I also gave him good info, and didn't ask for your opinion about what I was saying to him. You took it upon yourself to talk **** about what I was saying to him. You need to take a look in the mirror homie talking about resorting to elementary insults.

God you're ******* stupid. I figured at some point you would realize that you jumped on OP first and me before anyone said anything cross to you. But I see you just don't have the required equipment to get it.

Keep making fun of the new guys to make yourself feel better. I'm tired of trying to explain this while you keep trying to laugh every time it's made obvious you were a ***** to people.

No an internet tough guy dumbass, I didn't threaten you. It was obvious I meant I'm not gonna stay polite with wording after someone is a douche and talks ****.

Keep laughing like a child though, maybe someday you'll be man.

I'm out, don't wanna argue on the internet anymore, makes us both look stupid.

Well anyway, OP, have you already installed the cam and converter? As I'm sure you can already see, it has been advised to run a 6.0. I understand you say they're not "giving them away", you'll spend MORE than $2000 just getting that 4.8 to make the power the 6.0 almost already has and won't have to run that 3600RPM stall converter to get the truck moving. Also, don't neglect the trans, even with those 4.8 mods. An auxiliary cooler (40k) and a couple of Sonnax Servos will make It last a little bit longer. The intake...yeah, sure, go for it. You'll pick up some power about where that converter starts to get the truck moving. Just keep in mind you need to figure out the return in this thread:

I wouldn't sweat about the throttle body. A 4.8 can only suck in so much air.

If he goes to the later intake it'll be good to have the 90mm throttle body just to match the intake, that and the 90 would be big enough to be used on other intakes down the line. Otherwise I would say stay with the stock one too, but it'll help up top in the rpm range over that 78mm

As for the 6.0, with trucks and heavy weight cubic inches are more important than anything else in my opinion. And really with anything because you'll always make more power with more cubes.

If you can swing a bigger motor I say go for it. Especially if you can use that LS1, you'll drop some weight and pick up considerable horsepower and torque.

Chapa if you have drive by cable (throttle cable truck not electronically controlled) a lot of guys love the Warr throttle bodies and they are pretty cheap too. May have to go with the 92mm if they don't have a 90. If so bore out the opening of the nnbs intake to match the throttle body size so there isn't a step down right behind the throttle body.

If you can swing an old used FAST intake, even a FAST 90 kicks *** compared to any of the OEM intakes.
