FLYWHEEL
The dude wants to talk flywheel. Let him. He knows that he isn't talking at the tires. Who cares.
And who gives a rats ***? Every engine builder that uses and engine dyno without having full accessories, and loaded accessories, on the engine, while on the engine dyno. Which is every one that dynos an engine on an engine dyno.

SHOW ME A 2001 4.8 making "295" at the FLYWHEEL

295 hp 305 torque look it up even the older 4.8 had 285 and yes fwhp I asked for help squeezing hp out of a 4.8 not for people to just badger me at every corner
The fact that I was able to spend that much time and effort lowering the weight of the truck should atleast hint that I'm taking the time to do things right the first time not throwing parts at it guessing what's better or worse

A simple very hard to not possible would be great. Or hey bro no one has ever done it but try this and let us know what it does this forum has to many negative people
GM made a corvette with an old school 327 make over 500 hp in the sixties there's only one in existence left and it went for over 2 million because of how ahead of it's time it was

In your original post you asked someone to show you a 4.8 that makes 295. Look up the specs, I just did. It's 295 in the later years. Below is your quote and the mystic information you can't seem to find. Might wanna brush up on reading before talking **** about reading.
https://www.jdpower.com/cars/2008/gm...-sle-4wd/Specs
Now you want the specs for a 2001, I had to look that up to, because to be honest I don't give a **** and never have. It's 270hp/285 tq, put it on an engine dyno it'll be higher. Feel better about yourself now? You still like like a ******* ******* for patronizing the **** out of a dude and me because it's obviously your world and we're living in it and everyone needs to speak your language or no language at all.

Ignore that bullshit man, not many have done what you have with that truck. I think it's badass you got a truck down that light. I wanna see some videos of this little 4.8 that could too, probably smoke the **** out of arthurs truck.
If you don't feel like posting in here anymore send me a PM

There's always someone faster, always someone slower. Drag racing isn't the only performance metric out there
I can't wait til next Saturday is it? When everyone sees I'm not just a **** talking ******* lol
Of course we are arguing over 10hp, because that's all he's gonna gain over the gen3 manifold. And his 4.8 isnt hardly gonna break 300hp at the wheels
but I'm the ******* for being realistic lmao
if we are bench racing, let's hook up 8200lbs and race. Oh yeah, a RCSB 2wd can't pull 8200lbs.... that's right
lol

What the **** is your point. We all do mods to gain 10 here and 10 there.
You're not an ******* for being realistic. You're an ******* for talking **** to everyone that spoke in flywheel horsepower, because you personally think it's stupid.
I haven't seen the part where the guy was unrealistic. He was off a hair on what the factory rating was, but he also posted it in question form, which means all you had to do was say no that isn't the rating for your year motor, but it is the rating for later years. But you didn't
You were new at one point, you didn't know what question to ask or how to ask it appropriately, it took a while of speaking the lingo with dudes to know what "language" they spoke. How did people treat you when you were learning?
If I missed something here, enlighten me. But all I saw was you being a dick to the guy telling him he needs to learn this and that and talking **** to me also.

Look at my history here, I lurked for years before I started posting. Having come from forums like Pirate and TSN, I have thick skin online, unlike you who immediately resorted to elementary insults when attempting to converse with me, all because you didn't read the point of my post
The OP actually posted the specs for a 5.3, in an attempt to discuss why my truck doesn't make "X" because it's rated at "Y"
anyway, flywheel hp is stupid, bhp is stupid, the whole argument is stupid because of DA, humidity, physical altitude, air temp: etc. arguing hp is like arguing on the internet..... oh wait. It's especially dumb to argue what an engine makes when only bolted to an engine dyno. Unless you remove your belt, your torque converter and exhaust: that's not how you race. That's why I harp so hard on the actual results of a chassis dyno tune: aside from dyno differences
EDIT: looking back, I am the only poster in this thread who posted any data of any sort (citable if necessary) and I told the OP to do it because it will grow with him. So I wasn't just talking ****, I actually helped provide info and tried to make sure everyone was on the same page of the bench racing textbook. K thx

Sheesh boys.. Arguing over rated flywheel horsepower on a 2001 4.8?? Just give this guy some pointers and go on..
Here's a pointer... Ditch that gutless 4.8 and even a 5.3. Nothing less that a 6.0. You're wasting money to get your *** drug from a stock car or anything else quite frankly. Only thing a 4.8 or 5.3 needs is a kick in the *** from forced induction.
