I drove my Tahoe to work today! I just turned off all auto transmission codes and left my PRNDL switch hooked up and in park position. It runs fine like that. Now I only need to address my low pedal. I really have to push the pedal into the floor and the friction point is right at the bottom. I will check my master cylinder and make sure it's not the one listed in the first post. If it's not, then I'll order that one and hope it fixes it. Has anyone ever tried any of the aftermarket ones? There are some inexpensive options, like LUK and I wonder if it might be any better than the one I have.

Does anyone know if the TickPerformance shims will fit the NV4500? They're designed for a T56.

I never posted about it but I made an adapter piece for the Tick master cylinder which usually comes with an adjustable rod. Only thing is you have to order it with a custom shorter rod as the normal Fbody one is way too long.

Atomic, I really like your work. I'll be ordering from you in the future but man, I already blew the budget on this project!

The tick performance shims should fit. I asked and they said yes. But you shouldn't need them if you have the correct master cylinder.

I haven't bled it real well yet. I'm going to bleed it real well and if that doesn't work I'll buy the master cylinder that you provided the PN for. I really appreciate your detail and advise. I can tell that this is going to be a worthy swap once I get a few bugs worked out.

So, I bled and bled this morning. I got a lot of old shitty looking fluid out. The guy working the pedal would say "Oh, I'm getting lots of pedal", then he wouldn't have any after another round. So I bled until the fluid was clean and clear, then with the valve closed, I'd pump and pump and when I'd stop, bubbles would start coming to the top of the reservoir. I think my master cylinder is bad.

I'm about to take mine on a 1000+ mile road trip this weekend so that will be the first long haul on the test vehicle!
