If you come into Dallas it's on! I work for Southwest Airlines now so no Abilene for me!

The was pretty cake. I had a shop do it because I thought I would need new Drive shafts and a new cross member fabbed up. However it fit perfectly like is was designed to (after all it does come behind 6.0s in 2500) only thing they swapped was the reverse switch.

How did u buy the 3500 from and food u get another OEM clutch?

do you have a NV3500 that came stock with the 4.3V6 amd the 4.8 or a NV4500 that only came in 2500s and dodge diesels?

the NV3500 has nearly zero after market support but the NV4500 has some upgradable shafts and internals can be cryo treated.

Been working on the tuning some. I got a tap in my motor now and I id'ed a rocker with some play in it. Sounds like a lifter to me. Can't wait. I was just dreaming about pulling a head on another LS motor last night.

I'm thinking maybe the previous owner didn't run the correct fluid and that's why your synchros are shot. When I ordered mine I asked about upgrades and Midwest trans told me there really weren't any upgrades except cryo treated shafts. I would go for a stock rebuild but make sure you order the correct fluid. I also installed Fast Coolers on mine and did the extra 1qt overfill so I believe I have 8 quarts in mine now.

I just had my NV4500 rebuilt because of some synchro issues too. Another forum recommend that I add this filter kit to the transmission. It looks pretty good and for $100 it's worth it considering the cost of another rebuild.

I highly considered adding a filter kit to mine as well but quickly realized that I probably won’t change the fluid or filters very often maybe every 75k miles or so since the fluid is pretty expensive. I added these Fast coolers https://www.fastcoolers.com/ to both PTO covers which bumped my oil capacity up to 7 quarts and should increase my heat dissipating properties. I also purchased 2 magnets that I placed in the bottom of the Trans so that any metal particles will be collected and kept from recirculating.

The biggest issue I find people have is using the wrong fluid so make sure you use the right stuff don’t substitute redline 5-30 or anything like that
