yeah, man. with as many full console shifter setups as i've seen over the years, this is the first time i've seen an anchored linkage setup like that, and it seems like it'd feel so much more natural for the throw. mad props!

Funny story. I actually got this SUV because I needed to tow a trailer around and my wife demanded an SUV. She still hasn't driven it a single time to this day.

So there was no fitmest issues putting this in the tunnel of a 1500?

And how did u get the shifter far enough back to mount in the console?

the ZF-S6-650 (HD 6-speed) is the one that requires the extra tunnel clearance

No fitment issues at all. The trans is very small side to side. Top to bottom it is pretty tall. The shift tower is actually inside of the vehicle. The bottom of the trans hangs lower than stock in the cross member area and its close to the exhaust.

I wish my vehicle didn't have a console or at least the suv version of the console. this required a remote shifter to be constructed so that the shifter could come through a stock looking area.

If you didn't do a remote shifter it would have to poke through the area of the cd changer and might look funny compared to the remote's location.

Today I got the Atomic metal clutch bracket installed in the truck. It uses the factory plastic pedal but replaces the weak point of the system. The plastic breaks out around the MC mounting provision. This leaves the truck disabled. The new Atomic fab bracket is pretty damn amazing. I am impressed and that is hard to do.

At the same time I also installed GM part number 24242325. This MC comes with a redesigned body and longer pushrod. The new part solved my low clutch engagement issues. Now the friction zone is about halfway in the pedal instead of down on the floor. I have a lot more control and shifting effort is vastly reduced. I highly recommend this part for anyone doing the conversion!
