The one that came on my tranny doesn't have a drain plug, which is going to be a PITA. Who makes a good one to replace it with? Should I go with a high capacity pan?

 

Jegs has an aluminum deep pan with fins and a plug. I will be ordering one up in the next few weeks.

 

They have several, which one are you looking at? The TCI aluminum pan?

 

I used a B&M pan on mine. Adds 3 quarts. Picked it up from Summit for around $160. The Hughes pan is damn near the same

Cablebandit has one waiting to go on his 4l80e. I had a B&M deep pan on my 4l60e and really liked it. It dropped the tranny temps about 20 degrees.

 

Good deal, thanks guys. On the site is says something about a replacement filter for deep pans - is that required?

 

Call them and see if it comes with the filter and extension. If it does'nt you will need them also.

 

The B&M pan comes with the extension and uses the same filter as the stock pan
