I am using the royal purple atf right now. no problems so far I will put sycromax in it next time. I visited thier web site after buying. they recomend either. I run the sycromax in my 2 stroke atv gearbox with no problems also. i have the 75w90 front annd rear. 1 plug drains the transfer case the other fills it. Word of advice make sure the fill plug comes out first then pull the drain plug.

it's all purple. And yes 20-30k is just fine. Now this is assuming you do not have the auto trac that takes a special blue fluid from GM. It is a must with auto trac.

Is the dealer the only place I can get Auto Trac fluid ?

Yes I would "strongly " suggest the auto trac "blue" synthetic GM fluid. I know of no other place to find it other than dealer. I have heard it's around $6 a quart(don't quote me)
