Isn't the autotrak a viscous clutch?

The gm auto trac fluid is 14 somethin for the two quarts that you need. You can only get it from the dealer there isnt a big enough demand for parts stores to carry it. The autotrac is a viscous coupler transfer case from what the guy that does alot of my work for me told me. Otherwise it would be extremely hard on the tranny in the auto function on concrete/ice. I would suggest getting the auto trac fluid cause its not like a normal atf fluid. They used to use hydraulic fluid then motor oil then atf fluid now this new stuff is thinner than oil but not quite like atf either so I would spend the money and get the right stuff.
