Default Wasted A 14 Bolt

If what I've read around here is right, this should be a 10.5" full floating, and pretty bulletproof. Started with loud banging noises around turns, so I parked it. Pulled the cover off last night to find a pile of metal chunks. Guessing they came out of the carrier. Carrier looks smaller than I expected. Opinions appreciated, replace with new stock carrier, or a quality aftermarket posi ???

The G80, GM's factory "locking differential", is a weak design no matter how big it is.

That photo looks just like mine, minus the 1" tall pile of metal in the bottom of the case.

Just purchased; open case from Superior Axle and Gear, & a Powertrax "No-Slip" locker. Maybe this will take a little more abuse.

Get a stock open carrier and a detroit no spin. It fits inside factory open diff carrier and is very strong and cost effective.

Guess thats pretty much what I did. Open carrier I picked up is a little better than stock. After looking at the detroit no-spin, I can see that it is very similar to the powertrax unit. Soon as there here, we'll light 'em up, and see how it feels.
