Cool

Hold one axle fixed and turn the other. Mark the input shaft and axle and count the turns with one full rotation of the axle. If the input shaft rotates 4.1 turns approximately to one full turn of the axle then it has 4.1:1 gears.

Sorry not sure about the part # indicating the ratio.

Trying to buy one. Wanting a 4.10 ratio. Guy has one on ebay but doesn't know the ratio. All he gave me was that number.

I sent him another mail asking him to do just as you describe yesterday. So far he hasn't replied.

Is it just the gear? Or is it in the housing? It should say on the gear, if its in the housing, just have him pull the cover and look. If for some reason its not stamped on there, all he would have to do is count the teeth.

Its a complete front 8.25 differential. NOS, never installed. You have to split cases to get to the gears in an 8.25.

Well I've bought a differential and have it in the garage. It was advertised as a 4.10 ratio but I want to verify it before I put it in. As it sits and just spinning the input shaft neither axle spins so I can't do the count rotation method.

I am thinking I can put power to the electric actuator and do this. Does anybody have a pinout for the actuator?
