Vigilante 4l80 install question

Hi guys, long time reader first time poster. I have done a lot of reading here and elsewhere about using a vigilante convertor with a 6.0L last night/today. I have a 2002 6.0L and 4l80e 2wd that came together factory. I called vigilante with this info and ordered converter. First one showed up and was acually for a 4l60 so back it went. Got the next converter and tried to install it on what was already a bad day, did not fit. I was very angry and walked away for 6 weeks...lol. I went back yesterday and had another look. When joining together the converter hits the flexplate long before trans and motor come together. Thought maybe converter not fully engaged, so layed a straight edge across flange and measured down to converter bolt pad. Got 1.036 and spec is 1.030 +/- 0.050. Talked to Jack at precision this morning who was less than helpfull. So I started reading on the net. Discovered that vigilante converters for 4l80 all appear to be set up for fbody swaps, so my stock 4l80 flexplate with spacer will not work.
So, as most of the posts end without any confirmation, I am hoping someone that did it will tell me that I am going to buy the right part. I plan to buy the tci 399754 flexplate and install without spacer. So can someone confirm this for me? Does the crank extender thing that comes with the flexplate have to be used? Can I install all 6 bolts from flexplate to converter with this setup?

How many bolt holes does your flexplate have? Does it match converter bolts? Make sure the converter is in the transmission fully just rotate it working it.Youll have to use the spacer if converter is for the 4l80e unless you ordered it to fit ls1 3 bolt non spacer flexplate.

The converter pilot is bottoming out in the crank is what you're saying, right?
You should just get a SFI flexplate from Yank and some ARP flexplate bolts.
I'm not so sure that flexplate you listed would work. Part number 399753 is prob what you would need if you want to run TCI stuff.

Take a picture of the converter if you can, trans side. That will help us tell what bolt pattern and style you have. The TCI 4L80 399754 will probably not work. But I think a OE style LS flexplate will do the trick. But we need a pic to confirm....

Phasemaster- stock flexplate has 6 holes as all 6.0l have. As per my measurements, its fully seated. The torque converter has 6 tabs on it, 3 at larger 4l80 circle and 3 at smaller 4l60 circle. I have read that link and every other one I can find on here.
Atomic-converter is 6 bolt, but 2 patterns. I have read that is why I need the tci flexplate, it has both patterns drilled to allow 6 bolt installation.
Beatdown Z-With the stock 6.0 flexplate and spacer the converter pilot fully enters the the spacer and bolt tabs on the converter touch flexplate with gap between engine and trans still. I dont think a 6.0 flexplate with spacer of any kind is going to help me.
Smokeshow-the way my luck is going the starter will be my next issue! Yes, same from hpt.
Converter is fully seated, I measured. I have installed and uninstalled numerous times(licensed tech so not my first converter install). I even took the whole works back to the tranny guy who installed the first time and he counted the drops and told me it was fully seated. I have read of others having the same issue, but once they come up with a path they never come back and say it worked or tranny blew up or anything. I am hoping no news is good news, but was hoping someone had done this before I spend $$$ on flexplate.
