Default VHT Track-bite

I was just curious if any of ya'll have sprayed this stuff on your tires before going down the strip and how much it helped you out. I'm having MAJOR traction problems and nothing seems to be helping it, bought some toyo proxes but they still spin like a bitch at just dumping the clutch at 1200 rpm. But just curious how many of ya'll have tried this stuff, thanx in advance.

well, i have but it was on dr's. never tried it on street tires. there comes a time when you have to upgrade to some softer rubber to gain the traction you need. sounds like you are at that point. i recommend you start trying to find some used mt's or bfg dr's to slap on a set of stock wheels.

Get some Caltrac's and some MT or Hoosier slicks on some cheap 16" aluminum wheels. American racing has some cheap good looking aluminum wheels for under $90.00 ea.
That should cure your traction problems!

I've got a set of slicks in the building for the track, but i'm needin some traction for the street, V6 mustangs are scaring the **** out of me in the 8th, of course when i quit spinning i pull em in and walk the hell out of em, but i need to hook, it's making my truck no fun to drive.

Do you happen to have a flip kit on the rear? Have you tried the spring clamp trick? You have a really decent 1/8th mile mph for a N/A 4.8 with no cam. I really hate to see it go to waste.

I always heard that it would *** up your street tires... I have never used it though... I have used it on motorcycle tires though... stick **** on those things... already soft as hell to begin with.

if you put it on your street tires it will prob. wear off in a couple miles or so. if you had another set of tires laying around you could try using some tire prep like they use on racing go karts to soften the tire some. if you can find somewhere close to you that sells that kind of stuff. put it on there then put some saran wrap on it

Yeah i have the rear flip kit, and some summit traction bars AND spring clamps. My MPH probably woulda been higher, i know they say if you spin, your MPH will be higher, but i spun a LOT, at least 450 down track. The 10 flat was with a 2.48 or so 60 ft time, the next pass was a 2.33 but i missed 3rd and let out of it. The truck had a 9.8 in it at least at the time, since then i've added the locker, cutouts, new clutch, longtube headers, i believe the hooker aerochambers over the flowmasters, and by the time i get to the track, i should have my efans and UD pulleys, i'm hoping 9.4's on motor, and mid 8's on 100-125 shot.
