Tinted my tail lights saturday. Since this picture i've wet sanded them and tried to buff them. After the wet sand with 1000 grit they aren't quite as dark. I still need to buff them a little better i'll do that one evening this week. I used the VHT nightshades and some clear rattle can of a different brand. They didn't have the VHT clear at any parts store in town. I am very happy with how they turned out.

I think I went too dark myself. It's hard to judge when your spraying. Like I said after wet sanding they are lighter. I hope I wont get stopped. If I do i'll probably wet sand them a little more.

They look good. Try 2000 grit sand paper to wet sand insted of 1000 grit. The smaller "scratches" are MUCH easier to polish out to a nice deep shine unless you want the murdered flat black look.

 

I'm going to try the 2000 grit. Might have to respray them though first.

Try that with light pressure with lots of soapy water. completely rinse to check on how things are going and sand more or stop depending on the results you want. After you have stopped sanding go over it with a good quality swirl remover (this will remove the fine scratches that the 2000 grit sand paper puts into the plastic) Once you get all of thoughs scratches out then go over it with a fine polish (like a plastic polish) to bring them to a nice shine. If you have a buffing machine or orbital buffer it will make these processer MUCH easier with better results. I have some pictures of doing this to my tail lights (not tinted but very faded) and had some impresive results. As soon as I get my camera up and load the pics to my computer ill post the before and afters.
