Default Tuning for a new yank

Just installed the Yank SC3000. I was a bit surprised when I don't chirp 2nd at all anymore. I brake stalled the converter up a little bit and left just as it started to build boost. Halfway through 1st it starts to burn the tires, but on the 2nd shift it stops completely. Kinda weirded me out lol. With my old 2800 on the 60, it would chirp 2nd pretty consistently.

Is the shift extension preventing that surge of torque to the tires? I realize traction is a good thing, but I expected the opposite from the new converter. Should I be changing anything in the tune for the new converter?

On a positive note, boost builds about twice as fast as it used to. I'm definitely liking it

The shifts tend to soften up some with a looser converter, I got my yank in today too and I experienced the same. As long as its a quick positive shift, thats all that matters.

Kinda felt like clutch slip, so I wasn't sure... These clutches only have like 28000 miles on them with maybe 2000 boosted in my truck, so I figured it was pretty unlikely. I saw your thread on your converter install...did you shorten your shift delay at all? I'm at .200 across the table.

Shift pressures are also firmed up by about 2-3% across the board

Your shift delay is at 0? I thought it caused problems if you set them below .100. Also I have some torque management lurking in there somewhere... The beta version of HPT on the GMT900s has so many torque management tables its difficult to get it all lol. My abuse mode table still has a 1 in it...wonder if that is it.

Setting shift times to 0 is what disables the adaptive learning, isn't it?

Yessir indeed. There is also a table in efilive to disable it too, but in a nutshell, with them 0'd you'll be good to go imo. I always 0 them out. Also make sure the tcc apply is 100% minimum and 100% max, that way you don't have a progressive lockup like factory does. Thats a no go on the clutch on the yank from what dave told me. So I just maxed my pwm tables for the min and max to make it a full solid lockup everytime it locks

Awesome info, thanks. What's the difference between the pattern x and pattern y stuff for the shift times?
