Just for what its worth, I was running a tru-cool 28K I think on my old 07 4.8 liter. Truck was mostly stock and i wasn't racing it so I figured it would work fine. Got it from TXSilverado on the site as he was upgrading.

It worked great and I had no issues with it. Highest temps I ever saw with it was probably about 169 degrees, in Houston summer. If I were going for all out performance and racing would probably go with a 40K, and most likely will upgrade my stock cooler on my 2012 at some point with one.

And I've seen the 40K's much cheaper than that.
