Transmission started slipping, how long do I have?
Got on it the other day around 70mph and it jumped up to 5k then right back down to around 4k. So I got out of it and I've been trying to baby it ever since. Today though I got on it just a little to much, not WOT but enough to make it down shift into 1st around 25-30mph. When it did it slammed into gear really hard.
It acts normal when I drive nice. So I'm just going to baby it until I get another transmission.
How long do you think my 60e will last how it is?
I have a tt3000 sitting in my room waiting to go in and looking for a nitrous setup. So what do I need to do to my next transmission to make sure it holds up? I'm think a 65e with shift kit, servos, superhold 4th, beast sunshell, and a 3-4 clutch pack. That sound good enough? How much do you think this will run me and will it be easy enough to install myself?

If you've rebuilt transmissions before u could probably diy. Im guessin no more than 2k for parts. You will also need a 40k transcooler. I just had mine rebuilt it was doing almost the same thing. It ran me $4400 with a 3 yr warrenty, and guaranteed to hold 750rwhp with almost exactly what u have listed i also had pistons, and accums installed. depending on your rearend 10bolt or 12bolt choose the kit that works without breaking it. I had a transgo stage 2 shift kit installed the 1-2 shift breaks the rear loose. I have a 10 bold but am gonna go with a 12 bc im on my 3rd rear end.

Yeah i do. My parts were 1600 and some change, but since you have a converter prolly 1100-1300 depending on specifics. It sounds like your converter is going in and out of lock up. Mine did it for prolly 2 months before i too it in. just to give you an est of how long it could last.

Mine slipped for two days about a month ago, it has shifted fine ever since, normal driving and WOT. It does have almost 150,000 hard miles on it though so I expect it to fail any day.
