I had a transgo stage 2 shift kit installed the 1-2 shift breaks the rear loose. I have a 10 bold but am gonna go with a 12 bc im on my 3rd rear end.
3rd rear-end? you could have done it right the first time, and put in a tru-trac.

but it sounds like you get your jolly's up from telling people you've blown 3 rear's, and overpaid for a tranny

Talk it over with your builder first before you bring him a random box of parts. 1k is a great deal considering it is a pain to even get the transmission out of a 4wd truck and parts probably costing $600.

How many miles are on that rig? Jeez mine spent the first 120,000 as a muddin truck and I ran it hard, and now its got 160,000 as a street pounder and I still run it very hard and no issues....

If it blows up, it blows up!

But I wouldnt worry about it until it does

That's with me pulling the trans and bringing it to him. I will ask him about the monster kit also. Did you pull the trans in ur truck? How long did or does it take to pull it?

it's got 93,xxx. About 50k are from me, and those are a hard 50k. Plus the tune and headers don't help. I don't want to be stranded since thus is my dd.

It's probably due to the big warranty he got. Lots of things can go wrong in three years so they aren't going to eat the cost of a transmission.

Well found a local builder that will build my 60e for 450$, with me pulling it and bringing it to him. That includes a better sunshell, 3-4 clutch pack, servos, super hold 4th, better sprag, and shift kit. Does that seem like a good deal? Any other parts that I should build up or have him add, that won't break the bank?

I'd get a beast sun shell, not just a "better" one. Get one cheap off Orgeon Performance Transmissions and bring it to him.
