Fact of the matter is that most local builders who rate their transmissions by horsepower rate them under a 3300 pound car. They don't take into account the weigh of a 5000 pound truck. That alone is why a transmission in a car can be good to 800, but only 550 in a truck.

I agree, knock 200 HP off the top of that rating to factor in the extra weight of the truck...
