tranny issue, need some help.

In the Arctic? Where about?
Now I need to find a reputable tranny shop, being new to the area and not knowing many people, this could be hard. Family is coming down Tuesday to, not a good time for this mess.
I'll ask around tomorrow to see if I can find any local reputable shops.
Thanks for the info Koots, I appreciate it.

In that case, get it scanned first for free at Autozone/Advanced, then go from there. if it does need servicing, I would then take it to a reputable transmission shop. Just call around and see if you can find one that seems knowledgeable enough about modern automatic transmissions.
It might not be the TC after all, as I get a vibration right now when my truck goes into lockup but that's because of a wobbly rear output bearing on my t-case that needs a rebuild soon. It will eventually destroy the rest of my drivetrain if left alone

mine was doing the exact same thing before the TC gave up completely and let its guts go through the rest of the tranny. it would shutter until I let off the throttle or made it downshift. Hope you get it figured out quick

Thanks Koots, I'll be heading over to AutoZone tomorrow late morning for them to scan it.
01,
Thanks man I appreciate it.
Hopefully I'll catch it before any damage is done.
I don't live too far from you, I'm over in Raleigh

Made it to AutoZone.
I'm not sure if it needs a CEL for it to acknowledge an issue but, nothing came up.
Does anyone have an idea of what it costs a tranny shop to hook it up to the computer to diagnose what the problem could be?
Thanks

you need a real scanner hooked up. I run a trans shop and get these all the time. You could be looking at a developing misfire. The load when your truck goes into lockup will cause a light miss that will not show up as a code or during any other time. Any person who knows how to properly use a good scanner can check for a misfire over a converter shutter.
Converter shutter can happen, but its not nearly as common as the misfire.

Now that you bring that up. When I am idling I get a small roughness in my idle.
I was thinking about a miss but didn't realize this could cause a problem at speeds.
Will a scanners pick up where the miss is coming from even though there is no code?
Thanks

yes it has to miss a certain amount before a code will be set. Wires have been known to break down premature in 07 up trucks around here. most scanners have a misfire counter you can watch that shows each cylinder individually. On some i had to dig a little deeper to see it, but that usually will show all you need!
