trailblazer converter into silverado
#21
I ended up putting in the tb converter.I am putting at least 350hp to mine, I am unsure if I love it or not. I noticed the rpms are higher before the truck moves and it has a peppy shift I also did a vette servo. I feel like I lost some torque in lower rpms. It is fun to drive though. It will smoke the tires, it will get up and go. This converter will probably be good when I get my cam. I can sit at a light and let my foot off the brake and the truck barely moves if it moves at all.

Yeah, i think it's a simple, direct swap if I skimmed through the thread correctly. The "hard" part is just doing the actual work.
Of course, you could also just call someone like Circle D or similar and give them all of your specifics like vehicle, weight, cam, gear ratio, etc., and get a torque converter ordered or custom made.
Note if it wasn't mentioned: make sure you check torque converter to flex plate spacing, 1/8" to 3/16" (obviously, also make sure converter is seated properly into the transmission pump), and make adjustments if necessary.

Just buy a converter for your setup. The 4.2L TB converter is barely better than stock.
getting a quality 3000 stall will make a huge difference in performance for the same amount of labor.
