Oh, and the only other mods I'll likely do are headers, maybe a throttle body...so I say anyway, always open to new add-ons.

Since this is my work truck and I drive all over the state with it, I can't justify the cost of FI.

yank 3000 hear love it works great. normal driving seems the same unless you put alittle more throttle into it.

Gotchya - thanks. Looks like our setups are real similar - even the cam. So good to know you like that stall speed, thanks again.

Are all of your mods listed?

Go with a 2800 or 3k Vigilante (THE ROLEX OF TORQUE CONVERTERS).

I have a Fuddle and was probably the first to bitch about it not being here when they said it would be so I got my Hp series 2600 9.5 and its exactlly what I asked for and NO over heating issues and allthough I have a B&M trans cooler (not installed) I am useing the factory cooler it has never gone near 180* and runs consistanly at 165* I am very happy with my Fuddle converter and wish John a speedy recovery

To tell you guys the truth, I didn't find the responses to this guys thread all that informative. That's why I chose to use the pole method.
A single post of which converter choice and why would have worked.
No one really explained the benefit of a larger diameter TC either. It cools quicker and is recommended for a truck that will tow some weight from time to time.
Just something I've noticed, so I look at it like this, a lot of you guys are going with a FLT transmission when the stocker fails. Everyone also seems to be happy with it.
From what I can see, FLT uses PI Vigilante torque converters. That should say quite a bit right there in terms of quality and reliability.
