Ok, so it's back on track.....we have answered the question about 15x. This thread has turned into why Fuddle's customer service is so crappy. It doesn't matter what we prefer it's what you prefer. A lot of us has told you to go with a verter in the range of lets say 2600-3200. Your cam doesn't have a lot ot duration so you don't need that much stall speed. This is twice now(I think) that you have made an effort to get "your thread" back on track.

Anyways sorry for getting on my soap box!!

I won't post anymore on this thread so I won't derail this thread.

Have a nice day !!

I wish I knew about the Fuddle and Yank TC before I bought my TCI. I guess I just install and pray it will hold up.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth...others reading your thread not only gain info about choosing the proper stall but also the quality of product and service. All is valuable...and all worth the price of admission.

I spoke with the shop manager at FLT about proper stall for my set up. He advised that proper stall is specific to where your torque comes in. For me, with the Radix, a heavy Yukon and 3.90 gears, he advised something in the 2500-2600 range. I was surprised because I was thinking that it would be 3000-3200. With your cam only set up, a 3000 would be more in line, going by his recommendation...but you also want ot look at any future mods you might want to do.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that he also said do not go smaller than a 10" housing.

Any specific reason why?

I'm not arguing, I'm just curious

Wondering that myself...Unless it's the problems with delayed shipping etc. I have yet to hear of anyone having problems with them.

lol...wow...

I got about 6 recommendations for stall speed which was my original question and my main concern. And I appreciate everyones input, so thank you for that and for your patience. The recommendations were as follows: 3,000, 3,200, 3,000, 2,800-3,000, 3,000, 2,600. I may have missed a couple but that gives me a nice overview of everyones thoughts, so thank you.

As far as getting back on track, I appreciate the concern about Fuddles customer service and apparently he is now in the hospital, so of course that will all come into play in my decision. I didn't want this to turn into a pissing contest between Yank and Fuddle, but I appreciate all of the input about Fuddle's customer service.

My choice for stall speed looks pretty clear. I'd like to know more about possible effects of the smaller converter.

Hey I thought you weren't posting here anymore???

Just kidding...thanks again for your input.

jus1975 - I've heard there have been a lot of problems with the TCI's. If it isn't installed, maybe it's not too late to change to another brand. TCI has a pretty big following, you may be able to sell it...

That surprises me about the 2500-2600, but that 'formula' is what I heard as well - keeping the stall a little below your peak.

Did he give any reasons for not going below 10"? Others have posted concerns about heat and clutch size which is understandable. I had planned on going with a deeper, fluted pan and synthetic fluids to help with temp. Curious about the clutch size and whether that's an issue or not.
