a bigger diameter converter will have cooler temps. Same concept about a larger radiator.
The larger diameter converters are made for towing.
Just check out the aftermarket converters for the Deisels. They would be using smaller converters if it was better I'm sure.

Where do you measure the diameter? Is it as simple as measuring across the front. I have a 2800-3000 TCi and I'm not sure of the diameter size.

Will be installing Tuesday morning. Any tips or recommendations.

the converter size is the dia. of the turbine inside not the size of the outside shell

And if overheating WAS a problem, why are so many street/drag cars running smaller converters. I've always been under the impression it's because they're easier for the engine to turn, resulting in better times.

Asking to learn...not to be sarcastic.

A lighter converter will put the power to the ground faster as the engine has less weight to spool up in a short time frame so the car will get moving quicker (faster power transfer, more H.P. to the ground that is not used to turn the extra mass) and will most of the time a smaller converter will have a longer shift extention that big cams like.
For tow use you want a converter that will not have much RPM rise on unlock under load to keep temps low

Ok. Then which converter do you recommend for me that you have to offer?
I inquired about the towing 6000lbs + with the LQ9 6.0L, Dynatech LT's, Radix, and GT2-3 cam.
I haven't really got an answer from you (Yank) or PI.
Thanks,

Jim

The best converter for you is our SC3000 but if cost is an issue the Truck Thruster 2600 will work also

I still brag about my Yank, after daily driving a TT3000 for over 2 years. It knocked a complete half of a second off of my E.T., and that is without even leaving off the converter, as traction won't permit that. They are the real deal. Do you think Lingenfelter would use them if they were junk? Why buy a $25k-$35k truck and then get cheap on the converter?

I am still pissed that they didn't put my picture on the "Customer's Cars" page. I sent them a great pic...lol....and I'm one of their best salesman on here.

Just kidding...thanks again for your input.

jus1975 - I've heard there have been a lot of problems with the TCI's. If it isn't installed, maybe it's not too late to change to another brand. TCI has a pretty big following, you may be able to sell it...
Well, let me reiterate.......I'm not posting anymre to your pointless comments and questions. Like the ones about how your thread is getting somehow. Anyways back to your topic so one of us won't bogart your thread!!

Oh, just for ya'lls 10-43(info), I called Fuddle on the 21st and ordered my verter, it shipped out on the 23rd and will arrive on the 28th according to the Fedex site. So, I guess the shipping problems may have been solved.....I don't know. I just wanted to post about the shipping problem.
