Default Tires for Gibbs

Hi,
Posted this in the Gibbs forum with no result, thought
I'd try it here:
I'll be buying a Gibbs Silverado from my son this week
and it's in bad need of tires.
What tires are you guys running on your Joe Gibbs?
I'm considering the BFG KDW 2's (285/55/20),
Genral Grabber UHP (275/55/20,
and possibly some Nitto's.
I live in south Louisiana (rains alot sometimes, but no
ice or snow).
Cost not that big a deal. Looking for a tire with good
traction both wet and dry if possible.
Thanks for any input.
Jerry

BFG's are pretty decent... I like the Grabbers for the money... you should consider the Nitto NT404's as well... its a great tire. Nice traction and pretty good wet handling from what I hear. I think 285/50's look great on stock height trucks with those wheels...

285/50 is about perfect for a stock height truck, and you can still run them with a 2/4 as well. I like the Cooper/Mastercraft tires in that size and I'm running the Mastercraft Avenger ST's on my truck now. Here's a pic:

Im running the BFG KDW 2's (285/55/20) and like them. I over power them pretty easily, but what I like about them is how they handle in the rain. It is alot better than the factory goodyears.

I'm really impressed with the generals on Goshawk's truck. Nice looking tire and seems to hook pretty decent on the street. Awesome price as well.
