Default stock shocks on a 2/4 drop?

I was wondering how well stock shock will work on a 2/4 drop? I already have the kit just a little low on funds for shocks, and just want to know how well if at all the stock shocks will work?

From what I've heard, you can run stock shocks. There was an article in CHP, where they put a Hotchkis 2/4 w/ Bilstein shocks on it. The part # they listed was for "stock" replacements.

I have ran stock shocks on my 2/4 with springs/shackles/hangers and bottom out occasionally but its the axle hitting the frame because I carry loads.... the shocks are fine though. you can make just about any shock bottom out if you put enough weight on top of it. You should be fine running stockers for pretty much however long you want. I have ran mine for over a year.

I just noticed you from the beaumont area, I live in bridge city. Do you ever come through beaumont any more? I think I will run the stockers for now.

I have the stock shocks in the rear of mine also, because they sent the wron ones. Its a very bouncy ride, And it doesnt take much to bottom out. But the new ones will be here this week, and than in the spring I will take my truck back out and replace them

i replaced my drop shocks thinking they were cooked because i bottomed out all the time. they were working perfect and i cant tell a difference with the doetsch techs which i still bottom out with. c-notch is the right way to take care of the bottoming out.
