Default Shifting Issue...

I recently purchased the 46-mod for the 4L60E trans. The first difference that I notice is that the 1-2 shift lags more than it should... meaning it happens much later than I think it should (IMO). I've gone back and readjusted shift points from 6300 to 6000 RPM. The rev limiter is set to 6500 (formerly 6600). I made a few runs earlier, and the shifting issues mellowed a bit.... but, it still seemed like the truck fell on it's face spinning the RPMs up to 6453 (past the 6000 specification). I'm wondering if I should lower the RPM shift point again, but not too sure. I'm wondering if there's a lack of vacuum.

Any suggestions?

What is your MPH shift set too? It is my understanding that both RPM and MPH have to be met inorder to shift.

The 46mod is only controlling the transmissions line pressure. It has nothing to do with the shift timing.

Ok... went out later yesterday evening after making some adjustments. I check the vacuum connections, and all was as it should. The alledged "late shifting" seems to have mellowed to an occasional thing. What I did notice is that there is an apparent delay with transitional shifting (downshifting @ WOT). I tried cruising at ~45mph, then going WOT to see how the response was. Well, I'm sorry to report that I can completely count off "one, one thousand" before the downshift occurs.

Now, this (in no way shape or form) does not negatively impact (nor reflect the great knowledge & customer service of) the vendor to whom I purchased this from. I am concerned with whether or not this is just the "nature of the beast" or if there's a way to correct it, how can it be done? Input is always welcomed. Thanks!

In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm f$%&#@!@ pissed at the trans again! I hop in the truck to run to the gym to cancel membership (don't have time to go with 3 YOUNG kids). I pull out of the driveway, and immediately notice the truck's revving to high when it's supposed to be in 2nd gear @ 25mph. HPT says it's in 2nd, but RPMs are showing 3000+. WTF?!?!?! F%$#&!^@ POS is broke again. What the hell?!?! Beau, get your *** back to BR, and take Murphy's punk *** back home with ya!!!!!!!!

Before anyone posts that it may be the tune, I've flashed a different tune & even a stock tune using "Write Entire", and that was no help. Vince has asked me about the 2-4 band a week ago, and at the time, it looked normal. There's a couple of things I'm thinking of... valve body, gaskets, 1-2 accumulator (piston was kinda hard to move during installation). I'm wondering if the band slipped or broke. Trans worked fine this weekend. Today, it never worked. Help a brotha out.

That's the ONLY plus about the new trans pan... no more fluid leakage on carport with pan that has a FUNCTIONAL drain plug. You're more than welcome to swing by when I pull it. I'm not doing it this week, as I think I'd light a match to it after pouring 5 gallons of gasoline on it.

Vince... got your message. I didn't realize it until late. I wasn't ignoring you. After the truck issue, I figured I'd separate from computers, phone, etc. I know it's bad when my wife asks if it broke again, and she doesn't have a comment to offer. Anyway, I played with my 8-month old for a long while trying to get him to walk. He took his first solo steps over a week ago, and took several more last night. Gonna back away from truck for another day or so. I'll give ya a ring later today.

I'll whip out the jack stands today or tomorrow, and drain the fluid. Will pull the panto see if the tube was really snug as I thought. If that's cool, I'll look at the valve body.
