Sent my 4L60E to TransBuilderGuy

That said I'm no pro but I've been through both and the 80es are just beefier. Plus the 80es only use a band for reverse of I'm remembering correctly.

I've tried to make a 60e live behind my 500 crank lq9 and it just can't.
I had it out/rebuilt 3-4 times and had I just cut my losses after the first failure, I would've save a bunch of money.
Lesson learned. I've had the 80e in since Feb and it's finally stable.
I can get in it and drive it without worry. When I had it rebuilt, I had the guy do the internal dual feed.
The only thing you have to be careful about in 80e is the sprag. If you play, do it in manual d3.

60e
Iv'e been running a 60E behind my 6.2 for
over a year, 400/400 with no prob. it was
just tuned with the eng on the dyno/street.
granted i am lighter than your trucks. so
this helps a lot i guess. I run it hard but
don't abuse it.

That's not what broke it.
What broke it was a 3/4 throttle take off getting on 85s one morning.
Blipped the throttle, it stalled, laid down about 50ft of rubber and then nothing. No noise, just nothing. Lol
And weight plays a big part in the life of a 60e.

Update - trans shop checked the valving, electrical, replaced TCC again. used scanner to command lock up when cold, truck stalls. Once warm the surge is there, pulled the trans and converter and sent it out to precision industries. clutches are burnt up. Still under the free refresh program so I just have to pay shipping. The Billet rotor had some marks in it from who knows what so the trans shop will take them out.
