working on a theory with the 4l60e, but I picked up a 4l80e and transfer case form a 02 6.0 HD for $100. let the parts list begin.

Cross member
Yoke / drive shaft? I read some people cut the yoke and bevel the edge
Speed sensor?
re tune obviously.
ill have a 80 gone trough and fresh-end up and see what it needs.

 

My Theory was wrong. Going to my trans guy Tuesday and awaiting a call back from trans builder guy. Updating this to keep a record for my self.
Went to tow 2k is lbs this weekend and the trans wasn't having it. I made it 20 mins into my 2hr trip, trans temp got up to 218 so I pulled over and let it cool. In 8 mins it dropped form 218 to 173.
Running the stock cooler and a tru cool 40k cooler.
On my way back it threw a P0741 code, if its anything to major I'll pull it off the road and get the beater out until I can get time and parts for the 80e

​​​​​​Went for a ride with my trans guy but didn't tell him about the truck at all. his eyes got wide when he was set back in the seat trying to read the scanner.
as stated it shows full lock up, but when it surges the TCC is showing some slippage. I talked to transbuiler guy and I'm going to have my guy call him.

 

I'm still at a loss why folks chase good money down the hole going after the elusive bulletproof 60e. It's like going snipe hunting with your big brother and his friends...it ain't our there.

 

Continually mystified by how many of us chase the illusive "bullet proof" 60e down the rabbit hole with cash - hand over fist. Its like snipe hunting with your big brother and his friends...it aint there :>)

 

As Mentioned, there is a ton of money in this trans and i'd like to figure out the issue. Also, I have a 4l80e with a transfer case. when this one gives up on life again.

 

I'll give ya that if your all blown and/ or tuboed- but behind a swapped in stock LQ9 at 5000+ ft the 4L60 should live...………..
