Default Is a 4wd 4l60e the same as a 2wd

i found a 4wd 4l60e for sale but I have a 2wd silverado could I use the 4wd and just take out the t case?

No. It doesn’t work like that. They are different length and have different output shafts and housings. You could change the output shaft and tailhousing but have to tear it apart.

So where are all the ppl who supposedly PMd that guy about their 60 surviving? And he was arguing with all of us about a 60 being a good trans and we are all just paranoid nut jobs wasting money on a 80?

Its 19 pages of a learning process. I guess that's how I'm looking at it. I'm sure Robert learned from our adventure. He come on here and has posted in this thread, not sure where hes been lately.

Obv if I could go back, I'd swap to an 80 after my oem unit with a stock pump broke at low 400 wheel. I believe built units are good for up to 500 wheel in a truck with a good tune. There are a specific list of parts Id recommend the units having. (billet pump)

I wish I would have researched more before buying the truck to being with. I have an 09 ( last year with the 4 speed ). I shoulda found a 10 or even 11 with the 6l80 to begin with.


I also roasted all four tires yesterday. LOL
