Whoops, second pic i meant!

It looks like you have minimum threads actually screwed into the bar itself.
This poses two problems, limited adjustability and when the torque is transfered back to the spring it poses a spot to bend.
My caltracs have a good 3/8 of thread into each bar after its adjusted.

It may only look like it has minimum threads from the pics, it may be ok.
Other than that, good job

Bluedream, please post some up close shots. The detail @ ea, end or attachment pt. would suffice. From here, looks good. The $64,000 question: do they work? Is wheelhop gone?

Wink

well to be honest i don't have any wheel hop yet, i wanted to see if these would help my 60ft. times they are 2.0s right now. it seems to me that they work fine, my truck feels like it has a better launch but i guess we wont know till i go to the track. beleive it or not but i only spent $40 to build these all of the material i used with the acception of the turn buckles i got from work for free. i made the u-bolt plate out of 1/2 in. plate maybe over kill but i figured in this case the more rigid the better and the front hangers i use 1/4 in. plate. the only real bother was having to modify my stock leaf spring bushing but all i did there was grind both sides flush with the leaf spring and the hangers fit perfect. to make the turn buckle i had to buy a short 8" long turnbuckle at tractor supply company and cut them in half and weld in a piece of 1" schedule 80 pipe. to my surprise the turnbuckles o.d. was 1" also and it fit very well with the 1" pipe. and by using the buckle the eye-bolts have a reverse thread on one side which makes for easy adjustment. i tig welded the turn buckles together and used a stick rod on the u-bolt plates because i couldn't fit my tig rig into that small spot but all in all they came out good. actually i can't believe that they turned out like that good was expecting a less professional finish. asa for the welding i haveto give all the credit to my dad he is a rig welder and i must say he did a great job. and to comment on that weak spot in the front pic the eyebolts it has are forged steel and they are about 3" long so they do have at least 1 1/2" of thread inside of the pipe. i spray painted everything for the meanwhile but my neighbor is going to powder coat everything for me next week so that should be cool. if you guys have anymore questions please ask and i will have better pics soon.
