Default Ordered True-trac and 3.90's today.

Well I figured its time. Been workin' hard bringing the A/C season to a close this year so I'm getting started finally. Figured I deserved a little treat. Ordered the posi and gears today. Having them installed late next week. I spent some time deliberating what ratio to go with since a 4L80e is going in at a later date and I have to drive a lot. Turbo afterwards.

Sounds good man. I thought turbo guys liked to run a little higher gear though? Or is that only with the 60e?

So I've heard but when I went from 3.42's to 4.10's in my 07 I dropped .64 in the 1/8 so that theory didn't prove out for me. I want good response out of boost too so...

Oh ok cool. I was just curious is all. I have been thinking of a turbo in the future so I am interested in what everyone has learned running different setups. I currently have 3.73's and I am about to install a tru trac. I think I may just leave my gears alone since its a rcsb.

I am interested in having a true trac installed on an 07 rcsb how much do you guys think would be a reasonable amount of money for parts and labor

A casual friend of mine is doing mine for 200. He has an auto repair and hot rod shop in Burleson. A local gear vendor quoted me 325 if my friend was too busy. Either one sounded fine to me. Back in 08 I had another guy do an eaton locker, 2 sets of 4.10's installed for 900. Thought that was almost free cause they were all new parts. Guess he needed the work.

True-trac and 3.90's were installed today. I did LS1 fans yesterday with a toggle switch. Getting tune in a few days. Truck already runs better!

Make sure you're running non-synthetic gear oil and break the gear in properly!
