for right now i am not going to make it too racey. going to go with radials all around and keep the interior mostly stock. i wouldn't mind dumping all the antilock stuff.

maybe in a year or so 4 link with big big tires and lots of serious weight reduction.

the snow ball effect has begun. looks like i am going to do the fuel system now too. good thing it is winter and i have lots of time to put it back together.

tonight i took off the tortion bar cross member supports for 3lb's total.

the fuel system change over is likely to save me about 100lb's. i always went to the track with at least 3/4 tank of fuel. figure that is 20 gallons of fuel in a 26gallon tank. with a sumped fuel cell i think i can run as little as 5 gallons. that 15 gallons of fuel is about 100lbs. i will be adding bigger lines and heavier fuel pump but pulling off all of the emission equipment under the truck. net weight loss will be at least 90lbs. the weight i do keep will be right at the back of the truck too so that is a good thing.

so. in the top post i am going to drop 3lb's for brackets and 90lbs for fuel new fuel system with less fuel in it. new total is...

225.5+3+90=318.5lbs

yeah, i hear ya. right now my goals are to take off as much as i can an keep it real streetable. like 2000+miles in a week streetable. next year i might go crazy with some dragrace only stuff like lightweight front rims and tires and full slicks and start pulling creature comforts like carpet and tunes...

I know you were talking about some lightweight tires. My dad recently got a set of steelies with tires for cheap to replace his worn out tires. The steelies have some 235/75-16's on them. I bet they are a good deal lighter than the 265/70-16's that came on some 4x4's.

i just got the qa1 coil overs. i am suprized how light they are. 10lb's even. the stock shocks are 4.5lbs so that puts me at 5.5x2lbs added back in. the top shock mount will probably be less weight and the bottom will probably be a little heavier. i am going to add 2lb's per side to finish things off. that puts me a total of 15lb's back on the truck. grand total from pulling the tortion bar set up is 64lbs-15lbs so 49lb's. the coil overs were $475 shipped, that includes the thrust bearings and adjuster tools. i will add this to the first post and adjust the total.
