Default NV3500 to SM465 Swap?

Need some ideas. I've rebuilt my NV3500 twice, she runs nice, but the neutral roll-over whine is still killing me. I just built a 5.3 to replace my 4.8 and I know the NV will give out on me sooner or later. I tow my 3500lb boat and a 7k travel trailer on a monthly basis.

I really don't want the NV4500. I know she is a beast and you really can't bust her, but the little half ton likes to row through the gears..

I'd like to swap it out with the tried and true SM465 with an external overdrive unit to keep my fuel econ somewhat reasonable.

My only real question is the throwout bearing actuation and flywheel/clutch options. If anyone has any insight on these, I'd be happy to hear em!

Thanks,

Stark
