Put in a new throw out bearing and earl clutch line fittings with -4 line in my buddies truck. It's a 00 silvy ext cab 2wd 4.3 nv3500. Put a bottle of fluid through and still no clutch. It feels like my civics clutch pedal but his won't release at all. So we tightened it all up and filled the master plum full and left the cap off over night. It did not leak down at all so I assume the lines are all tight. Please help he needs his truck going.

 

What procedure are you using to bleed the clutch?

 

Push open close lift push. And pump over and over the push open close lift repeat.

 

ive been told on these systems if you pump the clutch alot when the bleeder is closed it can create more bubbles in the system

 

Most the time on a hydraulic clutch I will vacuum bleed half to a whole bottle of fluid and before I shut the bleeder I will put the cap back on, then close the bleeder and shut off the vacuum bottle. When I don't vacuum bleed, I open the bleeder, push the pedal to the floor, then shut the bleeder and repeat until I have good pedal. Never had any luck pumping the pedal then cracking the bleeder on a clutch system.

 

Tried it both ways. Maybe I just need to have him single pump it for awhile and see if that works. My honda was way easier. Then again I think we single pumped it too.

 

Installing a remote bleeder line with a speed bleeder on the end helped immensely in my case

 

Yea I think in a clutch system there is so much spring pressure put on the throw out bearing from the pressure plate that you end up fighting yourself by pump bleeding it. My guess is, once the bleeder is cracked the pressure plate forces the throw out back towards the trans with enough force that it spits the fluid out fast enough to create an air gap in the system.

 

He finally got it. He said it. Took him and his dad like two dads. 2-3 hours each day. He said the pedal is very very stiff now. But it actually releases in high rpm.

The cable 5.3 throttle body seems to be working good too. The short lipped 4.3 tb didn't hold charge pipes very well. Now he can make full boost and he is in love again. Lol. Next up, some 1.7 rockers for .575 lift iirc and meth for more boost and a t56 for better gearing.

 

Ive got a clutch resivoir cap with a vacuum fitting on top, fill the line and res with fluid, stick the cap with fitting on (make sure it seals good) run a hose from the cap to anywhere on the manifold that sees vac with it running. With all of it together, crank the engine up, let it bleed itself
