The brake systems on these trucks just inherently suck. Even with all the standard upgrades (05+ front, SUV rear, SS lines, hydroboost) the brakes never felt what I would have expected. Pedal never had a good linear feel. Just that typical mush.

My 02 tahoe is completely stock brakewise and is awful. Sometimes you just wonder if you'll ever stop. Really wonder how GM even let these out like this.

It's especially bad when you have a trailer hooked up and 4 ppl in the rig 😂

I already and Napas Adaptive 1 brake pads all the way around (4 wheel disc) and reactive 1 rotors in front. What are some cheap easy upgrades to get this back? I need a abs module rebuild, and i dont wanna do hydro boost and cut the firewall or anything. Maybe some 07 police tahoe brakes and dual piston calipers in rears? Was thinking doing stainless steel brake lines too. Any help you can!
You want better brakes yet you don't want to Do the Hydro boost? Go shoot yourself in the foot then. The hydroboost swap uses all factory parts and will provide the stopping power you want/need. You dont even need to change your master. You could do it for less than a hundred bucks. Word of Advice: Don't T the return into your OE gear box return. punch and tap a hole for a separate port or get the right hydro pump. Good luck

Well the bad thing with thw Hydro boost swap is that i dont wanna put a hole in my firewall. Also i have a rack and pinion set up not a gear box set up so i would have to change mt whole front end to get the swap cause i havent seen a rack and pinion style have a hydro boost but i could be wrong. I am in the middle of getting mt abs module repaired yet again for the pump staying on. Then i will do a abs self bleed and see how the peddle feels. But i do plan on doing a set of 07 tahoe front calipers unless the 05+ gm trucks are the same but i heard those brakes bolt right up.

I had rack and pinion and hydroboost was a straightforward swap. I think I had to drill 1 hole in the firewall. No big deal.

Do you have a parts list or maybe an application for that style?

I believe all the writeups are on here if you search.

I had to put in a T fitting on the line and add a line to the back of the power steering pump. But I was able to do it without removing the pump.
