Default N E 1 have suspension advice on obs?

As most of you know i have a 1995 swb obs, i have ladder bars with adjustable coilovers in the rear with a lowering kit in the front consisting of 2" drop spindles and 2" drop springs with lowering nitro shocks....It is a total of a 4" drop in the front.....My question is what do i need to try out in order to get better weight transfer from the front to the back? Should i just get some double adjustable coilovers for the front, and do i need to scale the truck in any fashion to find out where my weight sits to order the right spring rate and stuff? Im kinda in the dark on this suspension and just wanna have a general idea of what i may need to do... Thanks in advance for any advice

lose the springs and shocks i bet you see a tremendous difference. i had those shocks. you see in videos where they wouldn't let the front end come up. put some wore out stock ones on it.

i had spindles with stock shocks off a worn out truck, with v6 springs. then i had shackles. leafs with no overload off a v6 truck, shock relocated where my coil overs were from ladder bar set up. and i had some monroes from a nova for shocks. truck pulled a best of 1.63 on drag radials and i pulled a 1.60 on slicks but came off the nitrous and back on. this was a small block on nitrous. i imagine with more power it would get even better.

on the street is where this set up shined. i had over 9 inches of squat in the rear end when i left.

Did you use the stock upper and lower control arms? I guess my question is can i just find an adjustable coil over kit with shocks for the front and adjust out from there? i know this might cost a bit more but wouldnt it be more practical if i can make adjustments without having to change shocks and stuff out to see what combo works for my truck? Thanks

Default front suspension

I have had 2 setups and both worked very well, The rear is the same as yours basically, ladder bars with qa1 coilovers, the front setups were as follows:

sway bar removed, Moroso trick springs for a big block chevelle and QA1 single adjustables. worked great, almost too good, stood on the bumper a few times 60ft was around consitant 1.45 to 1.50

new setup is air ride tech a-arms modified to accept coilovers in the front with aerospace brakes, doesnt have the wheel standing wow factor like the trick springs had, but is alot lighter setup and consistant. pulls the front about 1 1/2' and carries it out. have been 1.35's with this setup

I have also heard of some of the 454 guys going with the qa1 coilover conversion kit for chevelle.

here is a pic pf my current setup

Great info man i have been looking for a way to get rid of these stock upper and lower control arms and find some bushings that will free the front end up a bit..... I like you wheel standing setup, do you think if i kept the stock upper and lower control arms, replaced with polyurethane bushings(Will this give me better movement?), reused my 2" lowering spindles, got the new moroso springs and qa1 shocks......will this combination work ok or is there some reasonably priced upper and lower control arms out there? Thanks man
